A blood test can be taken within 8-12 days after sex. Although more expensive and harder to obtain (available only through a physician), a blood test is more effective than a urine test.
Although blood tests are considered the best, urine tests are highly accurate when used correctly.
Springfield Pregnancy Care Center provides free, confidential pregnancy tests for all clients. Since Pregnancy Care Center uses urine tests for verification, you will need to wait a few days after missing your period before coming in to take a pregnancy test. Once your test is verified a due date can be determined based on the date of your last menstrual period (LMP).
